7 Key Reasons to Outsource Your Firm’s Data Aggregation

The financial services industry is among the most data-intensive sectors in the global economy. In our experience working with buy-side investment managers as well as solution and outsourced service providers around the world, we know that a myriad of front-, middle- and back-office processes and workflows rely heavily on efficient access to high-quality data.

But acquiring, validating, normalizing and enriching data when and where it’s needed remains a key challenge faced not only by the investment management community to drive their reconciliation, fee billing and other workflows, but by platform vendors and service providers across the wealth management and capital markets spectrum as well.

Here are seven main reasons why organizations should outsource their data aggregation.

1. Resource Optimization

Data aggregation can be a highly manual and resource-intensive process, from setting up and maintaining links with disparate providers – each with a different method, format or timeline for delivering data – to normalization and validation. Some still require teams to scrape data sets manually, creating more even more work and exposing the firm to various types of risk due to delays and higher potential for errors. For most firms, this is not the best use of their time and resources.

2. Data Richness
